La maison a été construite dans les années 1800, comme la maison de gardien de la grande propriété voisine, mais nous avons eu besoin de faire des modifications afin d'en faire une maison de famille. La première chose dont nous avons du nous occuper était la cuisine  dans le but de créer un espace familial, et nous avons dû abattre quelques murs. Nous avons installé un ilôt, ce qui est génial quand nous recevons parce que je peux préparer et faire cuire pendant que je discute et puis nous pouvons tous manger sur la table conçue pour les repas. J'aime décorer toute la maison pour Noël et mon ami Nicky qui est une fleuriste et styliste vraiment talentueuse m'aide quand nous avons une grande fête ou une occasion spéciale.

"The house was built in the 1800s, as the lodge for the great hall nearby, but we did need to make some alterations in order to make it into a proper family home. The first thing that needed sorting out was the kitchen and in order to create a family-friendly space we had to knock down a couple of walls. We put in the island unit, which is great when we're entertaining because I can carry on with my preparations and cook on the hob here while I chat and then we can all eat at the dining table. I like to decorate the whole house for Christmas and my friend Nicky who is a really talented florist and stylist,  helps me when we have a big party or special occasion.
