Photo : Olga Melekestseva

How to bring light to an apartment by completely renovating it?
At the beginning, this old 100m² apartment, typical of St Petersburg, had only four windows on one side, and a 23m² corridor. The owners called on their friends designers Mikhail and Nikolay Zhiliny to restructure and renovate it completely and bring the light that was missing. The task was accomplished by breaking down the partitions and installing interior glazed partitions. The beautiful period elements have been preserved where possible. Photo: Olga Melekestseva
