Aaron Schnepp a conçu lui-même cette grande maison container de 218m2 à partir de sept modules qu’il a habillés de bois, pour lui donner une façade design plus traditionnelle. Elle s’intègre ainsi au mieux dans la petite ville de Royal Oak, dans l’état du Michigan où elle a été construite. Et même s’il n’est pas évident au premier regard que cette maison a été construite avec des containers, il suffit de regarder les différentes façades et d’y entrer pour le réaliser.

Les façades en métal caractéristiques sont bien apparentes sur les côtés, et à l’intérieur, on retrouve les modules dont les portes et l’aspect d’origine a été conservé. Cela donne une maison très originale, avec une décoration industrielle en accord avec son origine, où le plan est exposé comme une oeuvre d’art dans la zone salon. On peut également voir sur le mur du salon, le logo bleu et jaune de Hong Kong Florence, la deuxième plus grande société de location de containers au monde.

Large container house with wooden cladding

Aaron Schnepp designed this large 218m2 container house himself from seven modules which he clad in wood to give it a more traditional design facade. This allows it to blend in with the small town of Royal Oak, Michigan, where it was built. And although it is not immediately obvious that this house was built from containers, you only have to look at the various facades and walk inside to realise this.

The characteristic metal facades are clearly visible on the sides, and on the inside, the modules with their original doors and appearance have been retained. The result is a very original house, with an industrial decoration in keeping with its origin, where the plan is displayed as a work of art in the living room area. The living room wall also features the blue and yellow logo of Hong Kong Florence, the second largest container rental company in the world.
