La propriétaire de cette maison d’enfance construite par son grand-père dans les années 1960, à Majorque, l’architecte Catalina Horvath Jaume, rêvait de la rénover tout en conservant son essence rustique et méditerranéenne, pour ne pas trahir ses racines. C’est avec l’aide des architectes d’Estudio Galán Sobrini à qui elle a confié son projet, qu’elle a réussi à obtenir ce résultat. La maison qui a une vue magnifique sur le paysage et la mer, sur la Cala Llamp à Andratx, est dans un environnement protégé.
L’intérieur est serein et confortable, fait de matériaux locaux et de récupération comme les fenêtres en iroko, et de rappels de la tradition architecturale de l’ île. Les murs sont recouverts d’une peinture à la chaux brute et les matériaux naturels privilégiés, comme le lin, le jonc de mer, les fibres et le bois, avec des tons de rose et de terracotta. La maison est très intégrée dans la nature, et la conception du jardin qui été confiée à la société Mashamba Design, s’adapte et tire le meilleur parti du terrain de cette maison à l’essence rustique. Modern house in Mallorca with a rustic feel
The owner of this childhood home built by her grandfather in the 1960s in Mallorca, the architect Catalina Horvath Jaume, dreamed of renovating it while maintaining its rustic, Mediterranean essence, so as not to betray its roots. With the help of the architects from Estudio Galán Sobrini, to whom she entrusted her project, she was able to achieve this result. The house, which has a magnificent view of the landscape and the sea, on Cala Llamp in Andratx, is in a protected environment.
The interior is serene and comfortable, made of local and recycled materials such as iroko windows, and reminders of the island’s architectural tradition. The walls are painted with raw lime paint and natural materials such as linen, sea rush, fibres and wood are used, with shades of pink and terracotta. The house is very much integrated into nature, and the design of the garden, which was entrusted to the company Mashamba Design, adapts to and makes the most of the terrain of this house with its rustic feel.
