Au Mexique, le studio d’architecture intérieure DIRECCION a rénové l’appartement d’une famille, un penthouse de 520m2 sur deux étages à Mexico, pour ses propriétaires qui le trouvaient froid et inhospitalier. En utilisant une décoration sombre et intime, et en changeant la disposition initiale des lieux,  ils ont réussi à en changer totalement l’esprit.

Au rez-de-chaussée, on trouve désormais les espaces publics (cuisine, salon et salle à manger) ainsi que trois chambres avec salle de bain et dressing, et une salle pour regarder la télévison, ces espaces privés étant séparés des autres par une grande porte en bois sombre. Depuis le salon, un escalier mène à l’étage  où se trouve un home cinéma, un bar, une autre salle à manger, une salle de jeux et une salle de sport. C’est un chêne qui a été choisi pour le sol, les bibliothèques et les portes, le lin pour les textiles, et le mobilier a été réalisé sur mesure. Dark and intimate design for a large duplex flat

In Mexico, interior design studio DIRECCION renovated a family’s flat, a 520m2 two-story penthouse in Mexico City, for its owners who found it cold and inhospitable. By using a dark and intimate decor and changing the original layout, they managed to completely change the spirit of the place.

On the ground floor, there are now the public areas (kitchen, living room and dining room) as well as three bedrooms with bathrooms and walk-in closets, and a room for watching television, these private areas being separated from the others by a large dark wooden door. From the living room, a staircase leads to the first floor where there is a home cinema, a bar, a further dining room, a games room and a gym. Oak was chosen for the floors, bookcases and doors, linen for the textiles, and the furniture was made to measure.
