Brick house renovated by designers in London

This renovated brick house is the home of renowned British designers Max Lamb and Gemma Holt, who have transformed a former factory into a home, studio and office in North London. He is a furniture designer and she is a jeweller, and when they found this building after a two-year search, they knew they had found the perfect place to live and create. The house was dilapidated and abandoned, a factory built in 1906 to manufacture sanitary appliances, and had been a mosque for a time. It needed a thorough renovation, and that's what they set about doing.

They are now selling it through The Modern House because their son has been born and it has become too small for their young family. They were immediately attracted by the industrial architecture and brickwork and saw the potential. They set up their workshop downstairs, and their loft-like home upstairs, which benefits from a wooden terrace. The custom-made furniture created by Max has found its place naturally in all the spaces, which are very bright thanks to the six large windows. The original ceiling was removed to expose the beams and this height gives the space an amplified feeling of volume to this renovated brick house.
