La designer Aimee Wertepny du studio PROjECT a investi ce loft à Chicago, un lieu qu’elle a su rendre intime et chaleureux malgré ses immenses volumes grâce à une décoration bohème et authentique dans des tons sobres. Le mélange des matières, des noirs et des beiges et la luminosité omniprésente grâce aux grandes fenêtres, donnent de la sérénité à tous les espaces, même si le loft se trouve dans une des plus grandes villes des USA.
On reproche parfois à ces lieux installés dans d’anciennes usines ou entrepôts leur froideur. Ici, grâce à la décoration bohème et authentique, et à des éléments ethniques en provenance de la Tanzanie, il n’en est rien. Tout semble parfaitement mis en scène et on ne tombe jamais dans l’excès de la décoration purement industrielle, même si on retrouve l’acier et les caractéristiques historiques de ce bâtiment ancien. Le design contemporain et les matériaux naturels se rencontrent naturellement dans ce loft pour créer un lieu unique et séduisant.
Designer’s authentic bohemian loft in Chicago
The designer Aimee Wertepny of the PROjECT studio has taken over this loft in Chicago, a place that she has managed to make intimate and warm despite its immense volumes thanks to a bohemian and authentic decoration in sober tones. The mix of materials, blacks and beiges and the omnipresent luminosity thanks to the large windows, give serenity to all the spaces, even though the loft is located in one of the biggest cities in the USA.
These spaces in former factories or warehouses are sometimes criticized for their coldness. Here, thanks to the bohemian and authentic decoration, and ethnic elements from Tanzania, it is not so. Everything seems to be perfectly staged and never falls into the excesses of purely industrial decoration, even if the steel and historical features of this old building are present. Contemporary design and natural materials meet naturally in this loft to create a unique and attractive place.
