Les concepteurs d'Olive, une petite houseboat ont conçu cette maison flottante avec de nombreux rangements afin de lui offrir un intérieur épuré. Construite en 2019, ce sont ses propriétaires, des architectes, qui l'ont dessinée et fait construire avant de l'installer sur les quais de Londres. Une palette de tons neutres a été utilisée, pour rendre son intérieur contemporain et intemporel, en accord parfait avec son environnement fluvial.
Bien que sa surface soit réduite, on trouve dans cette petite houseboat un salon avec une cuisine, et tout au bout, une chambre intime. La vie se passe également à l'extérieur, lorsque la météo est clémente. L'entrée qui se fait par l'avant est un balcon sur l'eau, où l'on peut s'installer pour prendre un verre ou simplement profiter du beau temps. Le chauffage est assuré par un poêle qui suffit pour ce bateau bien isolé aux volumes restreints. L'intérieur avec ses onze fenêtres est très lumineux et agréable à vivre, et cet habitat atypique est séduisant à plus d'un titre pour ceux qui aiment la vie urbaine mais ne veulent rien de classique.

Constructed in 2019, the houseboat was designed and built by its owners, who are architects, and installed on the London docks. A palette of neutral tones was used to make the interior contemporary and timeless, in perfect harmony with its river environment.
Although small in size, the small houseboat has a living room with a kitchen, and a cosy bedroom at the end. Life is also spent outside, when the weather is good. The front entrance is a balcony on the water, where you can sit and have a drink or just enjoy the weather. The heating is provided by a stove which is sufficient for this well insulated boat with limited space. The interior with its eleven windows is very bright and pleasant to live in, and this atypical habitat is attractive in more than one way for those who like urban life but don't want anything classic.
