In designing this mid-century house, he applied the characteristic points of the great Swiss architect, which are: an installation on stilts in order to free up the ground, a flat roof laid out like a garden, a free plan thanks to the skeleton construction which allows the rooms to be installed as desired, a façade without load-bearing walls, horizontal panoramic windows.
This mid-century house, built in the Netherlands, conforms to these construction principles and has been renovated in accordance with this concept. Although a little small for its owners, it has been enlarged as much as possible, with a new section that does not detract from the original architecture. An annex has been installed in the garden for visiting friends, which opens onto an ecological swimming pool that is the focal point of the garden, surrounded by a beautiful wooden terrace. This type of pool offers naturally filtered fresh water, with green coloured water that blends in perfectly with its natural surroundings. The decoration is minimalist, giving pride of place to the garden and the architecture of this house, with a small nod to France with the presence of a Gyrofocus fireplace in the living room, a real steel sculpture for this exceptional house.
