Décoration design pour une maison d'enfance réinventée

Les parents de la designer d’intérieur Kate Lawrence (@katelawrenceinteriors) lui ont demandé de la moderniser et d’en faire une demeure contemporaine à l’esthétique apaisante. La décoration design pour une maison d’enfance n’est pas celle qui est choisie facilement, car il faut passer au-dessus de ses souvenirs pour réaliser un nouvel intérieur, plus en rapport avec son siècle. C’est pourtant ce qui a été réalisé ici avec détermination et talent par Kate, qui a créé ici un environnement lumineux et ouvert en Australie.

C’est au sud de Sydney dans une banlieue paisible, qu’elle a grandit. Et c’est en collaboration avec sa mère Rhonda, qu’elle a travaillé pour donner une décoration design à sa maison d’enfance, qui avait été construite il y a environ 25 ans. C’était déjà donc une maison moderne avec de beaux espaces, mais la décoration datée demandait à être totalement revue. La rénovation a été totale, des salles de bain à la cuisine, dans une palette faite de bois et de blanc, très reposante pour le regard et l’esprit. Dans le salon en double hauteur, une cheminée a été ajoutée, apportant sa chaleur au coeur de l’hiver australien, et bien que la maison ne soit plus exactement celle de l’enfance de Kate et de ses frères et soeurs, elle demeure l’endroit où ils aiment à se réunir en famille pour partager de beaux moments. Design decoration for a reinvented childhood home

Interior designer Kate Lawrence’s parents asked her to modernise the house and turn it into a contemporary home with a soothing aesthetic. Designing for a childhood home is not the easiest thing to do, as you have to get over your memories to create a new interior that is more in tune with your century. Yet that is what Kate has done here with determination and skill, creating a bright and open environment in Australia.

She grew up in a quiet suburb south of Sydney. Together with her mother Rhonda, she worked on the design of her childhood home, which was built some 25 years ago. It was already a modern house with beautiful spaces, but the dated decoration needed to be completely revised. The renovation was total, from the bathrooms to the kitchen, in a palette made of wood and white, very relaxing for the eyes and the mind. In the double-height living room, a fireplace has been added, bringing warmth to the heart of the Australian winter, and although the house is not exactly the same as Kate and her siblings’ childhood home, it remains the place where they love to gather as a family to share beautiful moments.
