In the forest in the south of Denmark we find this wooden summer house, as the Scandinavians like to spend their holidays and weekends. The simple architectural lines blend in with the typical northern European woodland environment. The wooden summer house also benefits from the proximity of a beach and is positioned to take advantage of the view of the trees and the sunny forest clearing. Dahlgaards Tegnestue's architect, Jørgen Dahlgaard, was also trained as a carpenter, which is why he particularly enjoys designing this type of building.
Inside, the decoration is design and almost minimalist, the environment is enough to create interest for the eyes. The large windows are like living paintings that animate the walls, changing colour with the seasons, from green to red, from summer to winter to snowy landscape. This house, perfectly integrated into its environment, is without doubt the quintessence of the contemporary Scandinavian house as we imagine it, perfect in its lines and simplicity.
