Un appartement en duplex de 180m2 rénové à Marseille

Le Projet Espérandieu est issu de la rénovation d’un appartement en duplex de 180m2 ménée par Mon Concept Habitation à Marseille. Mathilde et Romain, ses propriétaires et leur petit Gaspard, ont posé leurs valises dans ce bel endroit qui demandait une rénovation complète, car il était sombre et démodé. C’est donc l’entreprise Mon Concept Habitation Provence basée à Aix en Provence et son architecte Julie, qui a pris en charge leur projet, pour le rendre lumineux et moderne.

La rénovation de ce duplex s’est révélée être un véritable défi car les espaces étaient disposés d’une façon très particulière. L’entrée se fait au niveau de la rue, mais le salon est situé en souplex, tout en bénéficiant d’un accès sur un jardin. Il fallait également repenser les espaces et les moderniser tout en gardant le charme de l’ancien. Le rez-de-jardin, s’est transformé en un véritable espace de vie : le salon est aujourd’hui ouvert sur la salle à manger, qui accueille une cuisine ouverte et un îlot central. La décoration actuelle, les couleurs, le bois, le papier-peint posé de façon moderne, participent au charme de cet appartement en duplex de 180m2, où l’on a l’impression de vivre dans une maison particulière. 180m2 duplex flat renovated in Marseille

The Espérendieu Project is the result of the renovation of a 180m2 duplex flat by Mon Concept Habitation in Marseille. Mathilde and Romain, the owners and their little Gaspard, moved into this beautiful place which needed a complete renovation as it was dark and out of date. The company Mon Concept Habitation Provence, based in Aix en Provence, and its architect Julie, took charge of their project, to make it bright and modern.

The renovation of this duplex proved to be a real challenge as the spaces were arranged in a very particular way. The entrance is at street level, but the living room is located on a basement, with access to a garden. It was also necessary to rethink the spaces and modernise them while keeping the charm of the old. The garden level has been transformed into a real living space: the living room is now open to the dining room, which has an open kitchen and a central island. The current decor, the colours, the wood, the wallpaper laid in a modern way, contribute to the charm of this duplex flat of 180m2, where one has the impression of living in a private house. Un appartement aux sols anciens aménagé comme une suite hôtelière

A Barcelone, cet appartement aux sols anciens a été rénové par l’architecte d’intérieur Carme Pardo dans le style d’une suite hôtelière avec un salon dans la chambre. Il possède encore ses plafonds classiques et voûtés typiques de la Catalogne, et ses beaux carreaux de ciment datant de l’époque de sa construction en 1890. Son aménagement est atypique, avec d’une part la cuisine et sa salle à manger, d’autre part, la chambre avec salon, avec une séparation légère.

Bien que cet appartement aux sols anciens présente une surface confortable de 100m2, il ne comporte qu’une seule chambre, comme un vaste deux-pièces, dont les zones principales sont partagées par la salle de bain, installée au milieu du plan, à la façon d’un pivot. On aurait pu envisager de mettre le salon côté cuisine, les volumes étaient assez important pour cela, mais le choix a été fait de l’installer dans la zone réservée au sommeil, afin de profiter ainsi de la présence des deux balcons, donnant sur une jolie rue de la ville. Les beaux éléments architecturaux ayant une forte personnalité, une sélection de mobilier sobre et de couleurs neutres a été celle qui a semblé la meilleure.

Flat with antique floors is furnished like a hotel suite

In Barcelona, this flat with antique floors has been renovated by interior designer Carme Pardo in the style of a hotel suite with a living room in the bedroom. It still has the classic vaulted ceilings typical of Catalonia, and the beautiful cement tiles from when it was built in 1890. The layout is atypical, with the kitchen and dining room on one side and the bedroom and living room on the other, with a slight separation.

Although this flat with its ancient floors has a comfortable surface area of 100m2, it has only one bedroom, and is therefore a vast one-bedroom, the main areas of which are shared by the bathroom, installed in the middle of the plan, in the manner of a pivot. The living room could have been placed on the kitchen side, as the volumes were large enough for this, but the choice was made to place it in the sleeping area, in order to take advantage of the presence of the two balconies, overlooking a beautiful street in the city. As the beautiful architectural elements have a strong personality, a selection of sober furniture and neutral colours was what seemed best.

Un appartement victorien de 53m2 charmant et lumineux à Londres

Cet élégant appartement victorien de 53m2 à Londres ressemble presque à une petite maison. Situé dans une rue typique où s’enchaînent les façades classiques des maisons accolées, comme on en voit tant dans cette ville. Dans cette rangée de bâtiments construits en 1890, il a conservé ses caractéristiques d’origine tout en étant soigneusement réaménagé par ses propriétaires actuels. Ils ont ouverts les espaces cuisine et salon de façon à offrir un volume agréable à vivre et à profiter de la double exposition.

Dans le salon, la jolie cheminée ancienne en briques et le parquet rénové s’associent à du mobilier design léger. On a soigneusement conservé les fenêtres à guillotine, et l’escalier ancien qui mènre à l’unique chambre de l’appartement. La modernisation bien menée lui a conservé son âme anglaise, et on ne peut qu’applaudir devant ce résultat.

Charming and bright 53m2 Victorian flat in London

This elegant 53m2 Victorian flat in London almost looks like a small house. Located in a typical street where the classic facades of the houses attached to each other, like so many of them in this city, follow each other. In this row of buildings built in 1890, it has retained its original features while being carefully refurbished by its current owners. They have opened up the kitchen and living room areas to provide a pleasant volume for living and to take advantage of the double exposure.

In the living room, the beautiful old brick fireplace and the renovated parquet floor are combined with light designer furniture. The sash windows and the old staircase leading to the flat’s only bedroom have been carefully preserved. The well executed modernisation has retained its English soul, and one can only applaud the result.

Un appartement rénové en duplex dans un bâtiment ancien en Argentine

C’est dans un immeuble emblématique de 1905 à Buenos Aires, que Clément Le Coz et Justina Socas, des créatifs à la tête de Le Coup de Foudre, ont réussi à acquérir un appartement. Ils rêvaient d’habiter là depuis longtemps, et lorsque l’occasion s’est présentée, ils n’ont pas hésité un instant. Tous deux passionnés de décoration, ils se sont naturellement tournés vers la mère de Justina , l’architecte d’intérieur Cecilia Lagos Mármol, et ont confié également le projet aux architectes Sebastián Marino et Ramiro López Saubidet pour créer cet appartement rénové en duplex très lumineux.

Leur première source d’inspiration a été le siège du studio de design milanais Palomba Serafini, une ancienne usine blanche, sans fenêtre, éclairée par des puits de lumière. Le plafond voûté a été mis à nu, et l’espace restructuré accueille une décoration à base de bois, de mobilier sur mesure, et de quelques couleurs vives. Cet appartement en duplex rénové s’ouvre sur un couloir extérieur et une cour centrale, où se déroulait autrefois la vie communautaire, une architecture typique de l’époque, que l’on appelle “corrala madrileña”. Renovated duplex flat in an old building in Argentina

Clément Le Coz and Justina Socas, the creative minds behind Le Coup de Foudre, managed to buy a flat in a landmark 1905 building in Buenos Aires. They had been dreaming of living there for a long time, and when the opportunity arose, they did not hesitate for a moment. Both passionate about decor, they naturally turned to Justina’s mother, interior designer Cecilia Lagos Mármol, and also entrusted the project to architects Sebastián Marino and Ramiro López Saubidet to create this renovated, bright duplex flat.

Their first source of inspiration was the headquarters of the Milanese design studio Palomba Serafini, an old white factory with no windows and skylights. The vaulted ceiling was stripped away and the restructured space is decorated with wood, custom-made furniture and a few bright colours. Une rénovation challenge pour un ancien deux-pièces transformé en trois-pièces

La designer d’intérieur Helena Martín s’est trouvé face à une rénovation challenge lorsqu’elle a découvert le projet du jeune couple propriétaire de cet appartement madrilène. Il s’agissait de transformer cet ancien deux-pièces décrépi mais avec un beau potentiel, en un appartement avec un grand salon et deux chambres. Situé en centre ville, il était le premier appartement de ses propriétaires, qui commençait leur vie à deux après leur mariage.

Ils souhaitaient une zone jour en façade, très ouverte, et une zone nuit avec deux chambres et deux salles de bains, alors que le plan initial n’en comportait qu’une seule. C’est ce tour de force auquel la designer est arrivée, tout cela en respectant un budget limité pour la décoration, une fois les travaux de redistribution effectués. Un joli parquet a été posé, et les murs ont été peints simplement, la couleur est apporté essentiellement par la cuisine vert mousse, et les poutres en métal patiné donnent une personnalité unique à l’appartement. Les propriétaires envisageaient dans un futur plus ou moins proche, d’acheter une maison en banlieue pour fonder leur famille. Mais il n’est pas certain que cela se fasse si vite qu’ils avaient prévu. Cette rénovation challenge et la nouvelle distribution de l’appartement pourrait les persuader d’y vivre assez longtemps désormais !

Challenging renovation of a former one-bedroom apartment into a two-bedroom one

Interior designer Helena Martín was faced with a challenging renovation when she discovered the project of the young couple who owned this Madrid flat. The idea was to transform this decrepit but potentially beautiful one-bedroom flat into a large living room and two bedrooms. Located in the city centre, it was the first flat for the owners, who were starting their life together after their marriage.

They wanted a very open front day area and a night area with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, whereas the original plan only had one. This is the tour de force that the designer achieved, all within a limited decorating budget, once the redistribution work was done. A nice parquet floor was laid, the walls were simply painted, the colour was mainly provided by the moss green kitchen, and the patinated metal beams gave a unique personality to the flat. The owners were planning to buy a house in the suburbs in the near future to start a family. But it is not certain that this will happen as quickly as they had planned. This challenging renovation and the new layout of the flat may persuade them to live there for a long time to come!
