Les architectes du Studio McW ont transformé un espace dans une ancienne usine à chaussures centenaire à Londres, en un loft flexible qui est à la fois un bureau et un logement. Ses propriétaires, les activistes climatiques et les cinéastes Jack Harries et Alice Aedy sont les créateurs de l’entreprise de médias Earthrise Studio, et ont trouvé ici, le lieu idéal pour travailler et vivre. Le studio d’architecture a conservé les caractéristique originales du bâtiment de 1924, en les mettant en valeur sans les dénaturer.

Les fenêtres en acier, les briques et les poutres en béton apparentes de l’ancien entrepôt sont typiques des constructions industrielles de cette époque. Le bois clair utilisé pour le mobilier sur mesure, s’intègre à merveille dans la réflexion minimaliste qui a été menée pendant la rénovation, recherchant la simplicité des apports pour laisser la vedette aux espaces de ce loft flexible et à l’histoire du bâtiment. Flexible loft in a former shoe factory in London

The architects at McW Studio have transformed a space in a century-old shoe factory in London into a flexible loft that is both an office and a home. Its owners, climate activists and filmmakers Jack Harries and Alice Aedy, are the founders of the media company Earthrise Studio, and have found it the ideal place to work and live. The architectural studio has retained the original features of the 1924 building, enhancing them without distorting them.

The steel windows, bricks and exposed concrete beams of the former warehouse are typical of the industrial buildings of that time. The light-coloured wood used for the custom-made furniture fits in perfectly with the minimalist thinking that was carried out during the renovation, seeking simplicity in the contributions to give pride of place to the spaces of this flexible loft and to the history of the building. Un loft vintage avec patio derrière une porte rouillée à San Diego

Ce loft vintage avec patio se trouve derrière une porte rouillée en Californie à San Diego et est un endroit que chacun a envie de découvrir lorsqu’il passe devant la façade atypique dans la rue. Les portes sont celle d’une ancienne gare navale, et sont centenaires. Elles ont une hauteur de 6 mètres, et semblent avoir toujours été là.  The Dutra, comporte plusieurs hébergements et celui-ci est sans doute le plus original et le plus séduisant.

Avant d’y accueillir des hôtes souhaitant découvrir San Diego et ses environs, le bâtiment a été la maison permanente de ses propriétaires. Son patio est le petit plus, un atout rare en pleine ville. Une fois la porte franchie, on retrouve la hauteur que l’on devinait depuis l’extérieur, et le caractère brut que promettait la façade. Les murs de moellons ajoutent au charme des lieux à la décoration vintage équilibrée. C’est sans aucun doute un loft unique en son genre, et son originalité n’oublie pas le confort.

This vintage loft with patio is located behind a rusty door in San Diego, California and is a place that everyone wants to discover when they pass the atypical facade on the street. The doors are from an old naval station, and are 100 years old. They are 6 metres high, and look as if they have always been there. The Dutra, has several accommodations and this one is probably the most original and attractive.

Before it was used to accommodate guests wishing to discover San Diego and its surroundings, the building was the permanent home of its owners. Its patio is the little extra, a rare asset in the middle of the city. Once you walk through the door, you find the height that you could see from the outside, and the raw character that the façade promised. The rubble stone walls add to the charm of the place with its balanced vintage decor. It is without doubt a unique loft, and its originality does not forget the comfort.

Un petit loft épuré de 70m2 dans un ancien entrepôt à Londres

Ce petit loft épuré de 70m2 est situé dans un ancien entrepôt à Londres construit au début du 20e siècle,  dans un joli quartier. Seule sa cuisine est colorée, le reste de l’appartement est baigné dans une palette de beiges et de blanc. Les fenêtres en aluminium ont remplacé celles de l’entrepôt mais on gardé l’aspect industriel et authentique des fenêtres d’origine.

L’appartement se trouve sur le devant du bâtiment, dans une charmante rue calme et donne sur un parc, dont on peut apercevoir la verdure à travers les fenêtres. Il s’articule autour d’une cuisine design ouverte, de la salle à manger et du salon, meublé sobrement. Le chaleureux parquet en bois évoque le passé industriel des lieux. La couleur verte choisie pour le carrelage dynamise l’ensemble de la décoration intérieure, et il émane de cet appartement un équilibre à la fois reposant et esthétique.

This small, uncluttered 70m2 loft is located in a former London warehouse constructed at the beginning of the 20th century, in an attractive area. Only the kitchen is coloured, the rest of the flat is bathed in a palette of beiges and whites. The aluminium windows have replaced those in the warehouse but have retained the industrial and authentic look of the original ones.

The flat is located at the front of the building, in a charming, quiet street and overlooks a park, the greenery of which can be seen through the windows. It is centred around the open plan designer kitchen, dining room and the simply furnished living room. The warm wooden floor evokes the industrial past of the place. The green colour chosen for the tiles makes the whole interior decor more dynamic, and the flat has a balance that is both relaxing and aesthetic.

Un loft de 120m2 évolutif à la décoration brute et élégante

Ce loft de 120m2 évolutif a été conçu par les architectes de Zrobim, et se trouve au dernier étage d’un immeuble du centre de Minsk en Biélorussie. C’est un appartement avec une grande hauteur sous plafond de 5 mètres, qui a été divisé en deux niveaux, le premier pour les espaces de réception, une chambre et un dressing, le second avec une chambre supplémentaire en mezzanine. L’atmosphère est celle d’un loft aux accents industriels avec comme points forts, la brique et l’acier et une décoration contemporaine avec quelques touches de couleur.

Le propriétaire est célibataire, mais désirait un appartement qui puisse accueillir une famille, afin de pouvoir y rester si son mode de vie changeait. Outre la hauteur sous plafond, l’élément phare de ce loft est sans aucun doute la fenêtre panoramique courbe, qui le rend très lumineux. Pour parfaire le style loft de cet appartement dans le moindre détail, les architectes ont laissé apparents les câbles et le plafond en béton. Mixés avec une décoration contemporaine élégante qui utilise le bois et le marbre, ce loft de 120m2 évolutif a une allure à la fois brute et raffinée.

This 120m2 adaptable loft was designed by Zrobim architects, and is located on the top floor of a building in the centre of Minsk, Belarus. It is a flat with a high ceiling height of 5 metres, which has been divided into two levels, the first for reception areas, a bedroom and a dressing room, the second with an additional bedroom on the mezzanine. The atmosphere is that of an industrial loft with brick and steel as highlights and a contemporary decor with some touches of colour.

The owner is single, but wanted a flat that could accommodate a family, so that he could stay if his lifestyle changed. In addition to the high ceilings, the highlight of this loft is undoubtedly the curved panoramic window, which makes it very bright. To complete the loft style of this flat in every detail, the architects left the cables and the concrete ceiling visible. Mixed with a stylish contemporary decor using wood and marble, this 120m2 adaptable loft apartment has a raw yet refined look.

Ce loft londonien à la décoration récup chic est un véritable refuge bohème installé non loin de la Tate Modern pour les amateurs d’espace et de calme dans la capitale britannique.
