Ce superbe petit loft à l’esprit récup occupe les deux derniers étages d’une ancienne usine de meubles du début du 20e siècle à Londres, non loin d’un célèbre marché aux fleurs. C’est ce qui a inspiré son nom “the Flower Factory”. Il donne sur les rues pavées de la ville, et sa décoration douce est loin des endroits autrefois industriels au design fait de briques, d’acier, de cuir fauve et de noir. Ici, les couleurs pastel ont la vedette, et le bois patiné règne.

Ce lieu a sans doute une âme, et inspirera plus d’une personne à la recherche d’un intérieur qui ne décoré sans faire trop de frais. Ce petit loft à l’esprit récup utilise en effet des trouvailles faites sur les brocantes, les héritages familiaux, et son atmosphère surannée suffit à lui donner une personnalité unique. Ici, pas de mobilier coûteux ou luxueux (excepté sans doute le réfrigérateur Bosch vintage de la cuisine), on fait avec ce que l’on a pour obtenir un mélange à la douceur d’un autre temps, baigné de lumière.

This beautiful little loft with a recycled spirit occupies the top two floors of a former furniture factory from the early 20th century in London, not far from a famous flower market. This is what inspired the name “the Flower Factory”. It overlooks the cobbled streets of the city, and its soft decor is far from the once industrial places with their brick, steel, tan leather and black designs. Here, pastel colours take centre stage, and weathered wood reigns.

This place has undoubtedly a soul, and will inspire more than one person in search of an interior that does not decorate without making too much expense. This small loft with a recycled spirit uses finds made on flea markets and family heirlooms, and its outdated atmosphere is enough to give it a unique personality. Here, no expensive or luxurious furniture (except for the Bosch vintage fridge in the kitchen), one makes do with what one has in order to obtain a mixture with the softness of another time, bathed in light.

Plan ouvert pour un appartement de 40m2 totalement rénové à Barcelone

Cet appartement de 40 m2 à Barcelone a été totalement rénové dans un style mini loft, et ses espaces autrefois fermés ont été entièrement transformés pour donner un petit appartement au plan ouvert, très contemporain (voir plan avant/après en fin d’article). Les architectes Mariona Altayó et Diana Bonilla, du studio Made BCN ont réalisé le projet et ont fait de ce lieu autrefois vétuste et humide, un appartement moderne à la décoration pastel très fraîche.

Si certains éléments ont conservé leur style traditionnel, comme la porte d’entrée vitrée, et les pierres apparentes, le reste de la décoration est devenue plus contemporaine, avec un choix de couleurs et de lignes actuelles, du bois et du blanc relevés par le rose et le vert menthe. Pour ce plan ouvert , les espaces ont été regroupés au maximum avec dans la partie commune, le salon-salle à manger, la cuisine et le bureau. Le plafond catalan est une autre des caractéristiques anciennes soigneusement sauvegardées, et qui donnent une grande personnalité à cet appartement. La chambre est restée intime et séparée, avec une tête de lit maçonnée qui crée une zone de rangement très utile.

Open plan for a totally renovated 40m2 flat in Barcelona

This 40m2 flat in Barcelona has been totally renovated in a mini loft style, and its once closed spaces have been completely transformed into a small flat with a very contemporary, open plan design (see before/after plan at the end of the article). The architects Mariona Altayó and Diana Bonilla, from Made BCN studio, carried out the project and turned the once dilapidated and damp place into a modern flat with a fresh pastel decoration.

While some elements have retained their traditional style, such as the glass front door and the exposed stonework, the rest of the decoration has become more contemporary, with a choice of modern colours and lines, wood and white enhanced by pink and mint green. For this open plan, the spaces have been grouped together as much as possible, with the living-dining room, the kitchen and the office in the common area. The Catalan ceiling is another of the old features that have been carefully preserved, and which give this flat a great personality. The bedroom has been kept intimate and separate, with a masonry headboard that creates a very useful storage area.

Un appartement de 65m2 en Argentine et son patio intime de 25m2

Cet appartement de 65m2 en Argentine, dont la pièce de résistance est sans aucun doute le patio intime de 25m2 est situé dans une ancienne usine et a adopté les codes du loft sans trop tomber dans les clichés. Il a conservé ses installations électriques et ses briques apparentes, que l’architecte Soraia Marocco, qui a effectué la rénovation a mis en valeur. Sans aucun doute, le grand atout de cette rénovation totale, est le patio autrefois abandonné qui a été entièrement réaménagé, et qui dispose désormais en partie d’un toit translucide qui laisse passer la lumière, mais protège des regards du voisinage.

L’autre élément intéressant de ce petit loft, est le meuble télévision construit sur mesure, qui sert de frontière entre le salon et la chambre, cache cette dernière partiellement aux yeux des visiteurs, et permet de voir les programmes tv depuis le canapé ou depuis son lit. This 65m2 flat in Argentina, whose pièce de résistance is undoubtedly the intimate 25m2 patio, is located in a former factory and has adopted the codes of the loft without falling too much into clichés. It has retained its electrical installations and exposed brickwork, which the architect Soraia Marocco, who carried out the renovation, has highlighted. Without a doubt, the great asset of this total renovation is the formerly abandoned patio, which has been completely refurbished and now has a translucent roof that lets in light but protects it from the eyes of the neighbourhood.

The other interesting element of this small loft is the custom-made television cabinet, which serves as a border between the living room and the bedroom, partially hiding the latter from the eyes of visitors, and allowing to watch TV programmes from the sofa or from the bed. Un mini loft de 56m2 en style vintage pour une artiste en Argentine

C’est dans un ancien entrepôt transformé en appartement avec vue sur un terrain de polo, que ce mini loft de 56m2 en style vintage est devenu le lieu de vie de la designer et artiste Nat Abad. Situé au 8ème étage face au Campo Argentino de Polo, la Mecque de ce sport en Argentine, ce studio avec mezzanine était idéal pour exprimer la créativité de sa nouvelle propriétaire. Elle a été séduite immédiatement pour sa vue sur le vert des pelouses, et la terrasse investie dès les premières belles journées, dont la surface augmente l’espace disponible de ce mini  loft de 56m2 plein de caractère.

Avec ses éléments en fer et bois, il était le point de départ idéal pour créer son appartement de rêve, sans doute petit, mais aux espaces ouverts et aux volumes intéressants, parfait pour une personne seule ou le couple qu’elle forme avec son fiancé. Avec la designer textile Catalina Richini, Nat a fondé la galerie Natural Art basée à Buenos Aires et à Madrid. Pour la plupart de leurs travaux, ils utilisent des encres naturelles à base de charbon actif sur du lin et du coton teintés à la main avec du café et du thé. C’est donc vers une approche naturelle et le recyclage qu’elle s’est tournée pour aménager son appartement. Photo : Javier Picerno

56m2 vintage-style mini loft for an artist in Argentina

In a former warehouse transformed into a flat overlooking a polo field, this 56m2 vintage-style mini loft became the home of designer and artist Nat Abad. Located on the 8th floor facing the Campo Argentino de Polo, the Mecca of this sport in Argentina, this studio with a mezzanine was ideal to express the creativity of its new owner. She was immediately seduced by the view of the green lawns, and the terrace, which is used on the first beautiful days, and which increases the available space of this mini loft of 56m2 full of character.

With its iron and wood elements, it was the ideal starting point to create her dream flat, undoubtedly small, but with open spaces and interesting volumes, perfect for a single person or the couple she forms with her boyfriend. Together with textile designer Catalina Richini, Nat founded the Natural Art gallery based in Buenos Aires and Madrid. For most of their work, they use natural inks based on activated charcoal on linen and cotton hand-dyed with coffee and tea. Un grand studio bien aménagé comme un mini loft avec un coin nuit

Techniquement, nous sommes ici dans un studio bien aménagé avec un coin nuit. Cet Airbnb est situé à Istanbul, dans la partie européenne de la ville, le quartier de la vieille ville de Pera,  à quelques pas de nombreux quartiers commerçants comme Cukurcuma. Les propriétaires de cet appartement le considèrent plutôt comme un mini loft idéalement placé pour découvrir cette cité ancienne. Le salon, la cuisine, la salle à manger et la chambre sont des espaces bien délimités et confortables, à la décoration basée sur des matériaux et des couleurs naturels, et de nombreuses  plantes vertes qui apportent de la fraîcheur dans ce lieu urbain.

Le balcon donne sur une rue typique, et même s’il est situé au troisième étage d’un bâtiment ancien,  ce grand studio bien aménagé bénéficie d’un ascenseur, un bien rare dans cette partie de la ville. Il est également situé près du métro, et permet de découvrir facilement tous les aspects de cette ancienne cité, riche de centaines d’années de culture orientale et occidentale. Il a été rénové totalement récemment par un architecte et décorateur d’intérieur renommé de la ville, et son plan est intelligemment optimisé. N’est-ce pas?

A spacious studio well furnished like a mini loft with a sleeping area

Technically, we are here in a well-appointed studio apartment with a sleeping area. This Airbnb is located in Istanbul, in the European part of the city, the old town district of Pera, within walking distance of many shopping areas like Cukurcuma. The owners of this flat consider it more like a mini loft ideally placed to discover this ancient city. The living room, kitchen, dining room and bedroom are well defined and comfortable spaces, with decoration based on natural materials and colours, and many green plants that bring freshness to this urban place.

The balcony overlooks a typical street, and even though it is located on the third floor of an old building, this large and well-appointed studio has a lift, a rare commodity in this part of the city. It is also close to the metro, making it easy to explore all aspects of this ancient city, rich in hundreds of years of Eastern and Western culture. It has been completely renovated recently by a renowned architect and interior designer in the city, and the layout is cleverly optimised. Isn’t it?
